Sell Beats With YouTube

Did you know that YouTube is a powerful engine to promote and sell your beats with?

Maybe you did but you don't know how some producers are getting thousands of views for each of their beats! The secret lies behind how they title their post. The thing to remember is that you will want to use a title that is similar to what artists are actually typing into Google or YouTube to look for certain type of beats, be it genre, style, beats per minute.

What I've noticed is that by using phrases like "Kendick Lamar type beat" or "Drake type beat", I'm actually getting more views! The key is to start your title like this, then put the name of your beat and your producer name after this.

Once you completed a beat, think of which major artist you can hear on it and use this to your advantage by naming your title to this.

I would recommend using some nice graphics in your video as well, plain looking videos tend not to get as many plays. A great and easy way to make nice beat videos for YouTube is by using Adobe After Effects. The video here is also made with it. If you are interested in getting these videos produced for your beats email cjbeatz@gmail.com

You can look for popularity of certain phrases by using Google adwords keyword planner. This is also an awesome tool to look for other great phrases related to your search term. So don't limit your self, keep searching for even better keyword phrases to use for your YouTube titles.

How To Make Your 808 Sound Like Mike Will's

What's Up Fellow Producers & Beatmakers?

I know you probably asked yourself how Mike Will gets his 808's to sound so crunchy! I was trying to figure it out myself. The 808 sound before Mike Will made it came to the big industry scene, always seemed to sound the same way. But Mike made it sound so nice and crunchy (that's the best way I can explain it). After trying out all sorts of plugins and effects on the 808 I was almost at my whits end, and was going to give up trying to replicate that sound. Now I know what your gonna say "Replicate that sound? Only a fake producer would do that..." But in all honesty, all producers try to make something sound like another producer, that's how we learn from eachother, and become better than the next guy. There is no innovation without replication, let that one simmer in...

Now, lets get to the goodies. The plugin I found which can give you that crunchy clean sound on your 808 is called Decapitator from soundtoys.com, it can deliver that sound you want on your 808! Play around with it to see if you can come up with a new sound!

YOU CAN ALSO SIMPLY DOWNLOAD MIKE WILL 808 HERE > PRE-MIXED 808 WITH NICE CRUNCHY SOUND BY CJ BEATZ PRODUCTIONS.
I would suggest using E on the style presets at the bottom, then using the mix lever on 3. This gave me that sound I was looking for.

Good luck with this! Hope I was able to help you guys out a little. Happy beat-making!

Today's Mixtape Review : Gad-g - Couture Visions: The Collection Vol. 1

The track "VSOP" was a perfect fit for the introduction to the tape. Gad-g initially shows off his relaxed flow, and flows the beat rather nicely. The female vocalist at the end of the track really topped it off for me and immediately had me hooked, i wanted to hear more...

I liked the fact that Gad-g threw in a nice old school beat on the track "Bridge is Over Freestyle", but I think this track should have been further back in the play list in my opinion. I wanted to hear something more like the first track I heard.

From a production standpoint, it seems that Street Scott was the predominant choice for Gad-g. The track "Just a man" which was also produced by Scott was the best on the mixtape in my opinion.

Overall I feel that Gad-g really gave it his all on this tape, even though its the first time I hear of him, I can tell that he put in that work!
